December 2008 update

We recently received gifts for the girls from a very well meaning relative. Unfortunately, the gifts were not appropriate the way they would have been say, two years ago. That's a long time in the life of a child! Here, then, are Haley and Alexa's current tastes.

Haley, 6 1/2, hates princesses. She loves fairies and her favorite color is blue. She claims to hate pink but I don't really believe her. She still will watch Blues Clues and Sesame Street with her sister. She's constantly asking to "go online," which means logging into the Littlest Pet Shop website or Disney's Fairy website (Pixie Hollow). She takes ballet once a week and is in an intensive gymnastics training class twice a week. She's very strong and graceful and loves gymnastics.

Alexa, 3 1/4, loves pink, princesses and fairies. She will only wear dresses. Like Haley, she is completely obsessed with Hannah Montana, the biggest difference is that Haley understands the difference between Miley Cyrus and Hannah Montana and Alexa thinks its two people. Anyway, they both want to be her for Halloween next year. Let's see what happens in the next ten months.

Alexa wears size 8 shoes and is a 3t, Haley wears size 13 shoes and is a size 7.

Bakery

Haley set up a table and chairs in the front hallway and dragged a ton
of food to it. She put an old keyboard on the table and a box in front
of it. A sign said, "Open" on one side and "Closde" (sic) on the
other. (I have pics & will post soon)

"Bakery! Food for sale!" she announced.

I walked over, nickels and dimes in hand. "Oh, is that your cash
register?' I asked.

She look at me funny and said, "No, it's my computer."

Colors!

Haley turned 6 on Friday and, all of a sudden, she hates princesses
and the color pink. She wants a scary birthday party next year and her
favorite color is black. Black! She's okay wearing pink for now,
because, as she says, "that's what's in my closet."

Alexa, 2 1/2, is suddenly obsessed with pink and princesses. OBSESSED,
as in crying if the pink spoon is in the wash. Well, at least they
aren't fighting over the pink spoon!

My niece, who lives in Milwaukee, is obsessed with the color green
because "that's Aunt Jenn's (me) favorite color."

Little girls are hilarious!
