We took Haley to see what she calls the "chicken butt movie," aka Chicken Little. Stupidly, we hadn't read the reviews. It was awful! And there was no hiding it from Haley, either. Halfway through the film, it was suddenly quiet in between scenes, and Haley said, "I don't like this movie, Mommy!" and the theatre was in hysterics!
Felix left very early this morning, leaving me alone to take care of the baby, get Haley dressed and ready for school, and get myself ready, too (oh yeah, me). It took her nearly an hour to just get dressed, she forgot her lunchbox at home, and her shoe fell off on the way into the classroom. I was silently mouthing the words, "driving me crazy this morning" to her teacher, when Haley said, "Ms. Kathy, I wasn't listening to my mommy this morning." No Haley, you sure weren't!
We drove by the office building were I worked in San Francisco years ago, and I pointed it out to Haley.
"Haley, that's where I used to work."
"Were there kids there?"
"No, it was just grown-ups working there, no kids."
"Oh, then you weren't there, Mommy!"
I was telling Haley a story about a time before I met Felix. "Before you met Daddy? I don't know what you are talking about, Mommy!"
Haley's teacher asked if she could go to Cirque du Soleil with Haley. Haley said, "No, Ms. Kathy, you have to stay at school, of course!"
Haley was being silly in front of Alexa this evening and Alexa started laughing and "talking" to her. It was amazing! Haley was thrilled to pieces to finally be getting a response from her little sister. Their "conversation" lasted nearly five minutes, which is a very long time for a three month old!
